Monsoon riding: gear that keeps you safe and dry
5 June 2026 · 4 min read · by the Speed World team
The monsoon turns every ride into a test — slick roads, spray from traffic, and a visor that fogs the moment you slow down. A small kit makes a big difference.
Your monsoon checklist
- A two-piece rain suit that folds small enough to keep under the seat.
- Anti-fog treatment (or a pin-lock visor) so you can actually see.
- Gloves with grip that still work when wet.
- A waterproof cover or dry-bag for your phone and documents.
- A bike cover for when it's parked out in the rain.
Ride a little differently in the wet
Brake earlier and gentler, leave more gap, and watch for painted lines and metal covers — they get slippery. The first rain after a dry spell is the most slippery of all.
Tip from the shop: Get your monsoon kit before the heavy rain starts — the good stuff sells out fast once it's pouring. Message us and we'll keep it ready.
